The short version
Mybjjstory is a personal BJJ training journal. By signing up you agree to the rules below. You own what you post. You can delete your account at any time. We can suspend accounts that break the rules.
This is the formal agreement; you also need to read our Privacy Policy.
These terms were last updated on 2026-06-04.
1. Who we are
Mybjjstory ("we", "us") is operated from Norway under the name Mybjjstory. You can reach us at hello@mybjjstory.com.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Mybjjstory. We ask for your country of residence and your birth year when you sign up. If you are at least 13 but under 16, you get a youth-protected account: you can keep a training log, but social features (a public profile, following others, the activity feed, comments, and sharing your location) stay switched off until you turn 16. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms on your behalf.
3. Your account
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when you sign up
- Keep your password (or your Google account) secure
- Tell us immediately if your account is compromised
- Not impersonate someone else or hold an account on behalf of another person without their permission
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
4. What you post
You keep ownership of everything you post — your training logs, photos, comments, notes about partners, and evaluations.
By posting, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and share your content only as the app requires — for example, showing your public sessions on your public profile, your comments to people on the same activity, or your feedback to the intended recipient. The licence ends when you delete the content, except where the law requires us to keep it (for example, in our audit logs).
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Post content that is defamatory, illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights
- Post content about identifiable people (partners, coaches) in a way that would embarrass or expose them without their consent
- Scrape, copy, or republish other users' content without their permission
- Try to break, probe, or overload the service
- Use the service to send spam, ads, or anything unrelated to BJJ training
- Create accounts using automation
If you write notes or evaluations about another person, be respectful. Public-facing notes that name another user can be reported and may be removed.
6. Visibility and other users
You control how visible your profile, rank, activity, and session notes are. Defaults are private. We honour your settings, but please understand:
- Once content is visible to other users, they may have seen or copied it before you change the setting
- Public profiles can be indexed by search engines
7. Our role
We provide the app on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do our best to keep the service running and your data safe, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or that you will never lose data — this is why we offer a download-your-data feature.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of data, profits, or goodwill
- Anything beyond the amount you have paid us in the last 12 months (which is currently zero)
This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under the law of your country.
8. Suspension and termination
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.
We can suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, if your account is used for illegal activity, if we are legally required to, or if continuing to provide the service to you would expose us or other users to significant risk. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.
When your account is deleted (by you or by us), we follow the deletion schedule in the Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to the service or these terms
We may change the app, add or remove features, or update these terms. For material changes to these terms we will notify you by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Oslo, Norway, except where the law of your country gives you an unwaivable right to bring claims in your home court.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Severability
If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
